Ford decided to shorten the wait and unveil the 2015 Ranger facelift, a pick-up truck that is going to be available towards the end of this year. Even though we talk about a facelift model, the American car manages to bring a lot of new or enhanced features that will make it more attractive to the customers.
To begin with, there’s a retuned 3.2-liter TDCi diesel engine that is capable to produce 200 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. It is linked to a six-speed manual transmission and is now 18% more efficient. There’s also a six-speed automatic transmission but that’s optional for now.

Less powerful versions are available too. There’s a 2.2-liter diesel that offers both 130 hp and 160 hp. The first one is said to be 22% more efficient but is not as powerful as the other two.
If you are into gasoline, Ford fits the new Ranger with a 2.5-liter Duratec delivering 166 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. Because it is a pick-up truck, the new Ranger has special low-range 4×4 gearing as well as an electronic transfer case.
These features are, of course, available on the four-wheel drive models that also benefit from a towing capacity of 3,500 kilograms or 7,716 lbs.
